2. HOW THE PARTNERSHIP WORKS

3. EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

3.1 HR SUPPORT SOLUTIONS

Initial research conducted by HRSS found that the majority of small to medium sized businesses (SMMEs) in South Africa, within all business sectors, are finding it increasingly difficult to deliver effective Human Resources (HR) Management, including ensuring full compliance with relevant labour legislation. HR has become a core strategic business function having progressed from the traditional role of an administrative function. SMME owners are unable to justify the expense of employing a qualified HR professional and thus the business owner currently pays consultants, utilises non-qualified individuals or manages the HR role themselves.

In addition to SMME owners, school principals are finding their time being consumed with the management of their teachers and general HR matters, restricting their time for focusing on managing their school. HRSS has placed many HR graduates in SMMEs and Independent schools on Internships with mentorship support and with your support would like to provide the same at no cost to public schools.

3.2 GRASSROOTS SPORTS COACHING

Grassroots Sports Coaching trains coaches to run physical education lessons, provide extracurricular and age-group team coaching as well as organising sports days and tournaments. We focus on ensuring that children have fun and creative sports experience.

Baby Looney Tunes programme uses positive teaching methods, creativity, specialised sporting equipment and exercises to equip children aged two to seven with general sporting competency: flexibility, agility and ball skills. Life skills; like persistence, courage, cooperation, decision-making, self-worth, goal setting and confidence, are built into the lessons that we’ve designed. Our coaches are specifically selected for their ability to communicate with young children; the bond that develops between a child and their coach is integral to a successful coaching process.

In school, our Grassroots Sports programme kicks in. Run during school time, our coaches teach age specific lessons in codes selected by the school; we offer coaching in 10 disciplines ranging from swimming to rugby, cricket, tennis, soccer and netball to name a few. Coaches are chosen for their sporting abilities as well as an affinity for working with juniors or seniors and the equipment they use is designed and sized for children.

Grassroots Sports coaches are favoured for extra-curricular coaching as they are reliable, responsible and consistent. These professional and experienced coaches nurture their teams, referee games and accompany them to interschool matches.
